True Satisfaction

4 “Please, come closer,” he said to them. So they came closer. And he said again, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. 5 But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives. 6 This famine that has ravaged the land for two years will last five more years, and there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. 7 God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors. 8 So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser to Pharaoh—the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt.
- Genesis 45

Joseph's brother sold him as a slave to foreign men because they were jealous of him, they wanted him out of their family. But Joseph understood what happened between him and his brothers and he believed it was GOD who allowed everything for a painful yet greater purpose. It was because of Joseph's faith and trust in GOD that he did not take everything against his brothers. If Joseph didn't have a forgiving heart, or did not trust GOD, he would have harbored bitterness towards his brothers.

It takes an extra ordinary heart to be able to do what Joseph did. An ordinary person would naturally be angry and hateful to the ones that hurt and betrayed him. How much more sold him to be a slave by his own brothers. It is no wonder why GOD chose Joseph to receive all the great blessings and honor of being a ruler in another country. GOD can bless you if you let Him take over your life. Instead of living in the past, why not chose to move forward with GOD and look ahead because one day you will understand why HE allowed some unfortunate things to take place and in HIM you will find true satisfaction.
