Shabbat made for Man

23 One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples began breaking off heads of grain to eat. 24 But the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?”
25 Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? 26 He went into the house of God (during the days when Abiathar was high priest) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.”
27 Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”
- Mark 2

GOD is an awesome and unpredictable being. HE has spoken His laws on many things but we think we know His opinion about a certain matter, when in fact we really don't. Take the Pharisees, they were the law makers, those who made GOD's laws even more higher than it is and so they are also people that judge others. They obey GOD's laws to the highest standard like not doing anything on the Shabbat. But GOD cannot be put in a box, what we think is right may not necessarily be right at all. To understand who GOD is, we have to have faith in Him and to truly know His being and character will take forever to do.

When the pharisees judged His disciples "did" something that broke the law on Shabbat, Yeshua pointed out to them, an incident in the old testament where David took the sacred bread from the temple that only the priests were allowed to eat. But they couldn't answer him. The point of Yeshua is not to be extreme with everything. GOD made Shabbat for man to benefit man. Not the other way around. We were made for GOD, so our highest approval should not come from laws but from GOD. For GOD is higher than the law and to understand His laws, we also need to understand why He made them so we don't mix it up.
