Breaking Faith

51 The reason for this is that both of you broke faith with me there among the people of Isra’el at the M’rivat-Kadesh Spring, in the Tzin Desert; you failed to demonstrate my holiness there among the people of Isra’el. 52 So you will see the land from a distance, but you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Isra’el.”
Deuteronomy 32: 51-52

When it is our responsibility to build up our faith, walking with GOD day by day, devoting time to GOD, reading His word and obeying Him, it is also possible to break faith with GOD. Whether we stop reaching out to GOD not taking to time to be with HIM or even when we read His word, the words can just pass us by without any effect on us when we have broken faith with GOD. It is a terrible think to break faith with GOD. It is like Moses, a great leader of GOD who led Israel out of Egypt and led them to the promised land. But somewhere along the way, Moses faith was also being tested as much as the Israel's faithfulness to GOD was being tested. Moses broke faith when he did not obey GOD to speak to the rock when GOD told him to so that fresh water would come out of it. He got so frustrated with the Israelites complaining, he hit the rock twice and water still went out. But GOD's will was supposedly to display His power thru Moses by letting water flow from the rock with just a command from Moses mouth.

In human eyes, it is a very small thing for Moses to do so that it caused him to break faith with GOD and disqualified him from having the very thing he worked so hard to get into, entering the promised land of GOD for Israel. How can this great leader even fail even when he was regarded by GOD as the most humblest man on earth and the only human HE spoke to face to face more than anyone that lived on earth other than His Son Jesus. If a great leader such as Moses could fail to have that very thing which HE led people to have, how much more ordinary folks like us should not take our faith with GOD lightly for fear that we might be disqualified from having HIS promises. We are all being tested. These are days of testing. Even Jesus was tested in the wilderness as Moses was. There are lots of promises awaiting for us in Heaven, but there are promises we can enjoy now here on earth. WIll GOD find us faithful? May we never break faith with the Great One.
