Esther 10:2-3
Everyone of us has responsibities or positions wherever we live. Some are fathers, husbands, mothers, wives, teachers, doctors, and many more. But whatever it is that GOD has called us to be and entrusted in our hands to do, are we doing it with our heart and at our best? Mordecai was only a scribe in the King's palace. He is one of many who writes or records everything concerning the palace. It is a most simple job but he was diligent and earnest with what he did because he was not just a man who records but cares about what's going on with the country he lived in and the leadership he is submitted to in the place that he resided even though it was not his own home country.
In the middle of the story, we see that Mordecai was not only an industrious man who cared about his job, he was a good father or guardian for he was the one who raised his cousin Esther who later became queen of the Country he was serving Persia. In the last pages of the story of Esther, Mordecai was given credit due him, where the bible records that Mordecai was a great man who sought not only the good of his people but also prayed for the welfare of all his bretheren. He is a man of faith. A man whose passions benefited a whole nation, he burned so bright he became popular and gained power throughout the entire Kingdom. Do you want to shine bright like Mordecai? You can if only you put your heart in whatever you do and put your faith in the LORD Almighty.
