9 The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. - 2 Chronicles 16
Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”
- 2 Chronicles 20
Message:The LORD will help those who trust Him
Observation:
The LORD searches the whole earth, what is He looking for? He is looking for those who are committed to Him. Meaning those who trust in HIM and depend on Him to help them. Why does the LORD look for those whose hearts are like that? Why does the weak hearted and faint attract HIM? Not because they are weak or faint but because He wants to help those who know and acknowledge their need for HIM. On earth we have many things to rely on, and we can secure about the walls that we may have in our lives to protect us, money, fame, influence, family, career, anything that makes us confident and not making us trust GOD is a competition with GOD.
Application:
We ought to put our trust and faith in GOD alone. Yes we have to work hard, we have to earn money but these things, achievements or earthly treasures and gains should not make us proud and confident that we do not look to GOD for security anymore. We may have all the money, all the wealth, but when we need a miracle more than what money or wealth can buy, there's only one Being who can grant that miracle for us and that is HE who is the maker of Heaven and Earth. When we depend fully on GOD, HE will always be there to take care of us and even fight for us when things are going bad. We can be sure that GOD will come through for us because we trusted HIM, HE will make sure to never fail us. Where is your trust?
