21 And there by the Ahava Canal, I gave orders for all of us to fast and humble ourselves before our God. We prayed that he would give us a safe journey and protect us, our children, and our goods as we traveled. 22 For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen[x] to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king, “Our God’s hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.” 23 So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.

Thoughts:
I was troubled by the thought of the death my other dog Girly when she was bitten by a certain creature that violently took her life. I could not understand how GOD would allow things to happen in our family and property. I was trying to reconcile what could have I missed. Prayer. I need to pray and ask GOD for protection, for provision and all that we need. We cannot just expect Him to give us everything without us asking.
Message:
GOD will protect us and provide everything for us but we have to ask these things from Him. It's not automatic. We really need to ask GOD, we cannot stop praying, we should not stop asking.
Observation:
It is better to trust the Lord for protection and provision than to trust in man because the Lord will surely give all that we ask because we need it. Even thought it is a need, we have to ask GOD for it.
Command/Application:
Ask for what you need. Pray for everything, do not stop praying. If it is a very important need, fast and pray for it.
Prayer:
Abba Yakar, O Sovereign and Great GOD! You are worthy of all honor and Praise! You are in control of all things. Abba, forgive us for the sins of omission. When we stop doing what we are supposed to do. Help us O Lord to be faithful with our petitions of provision and protection. Especially of your miracles and promises to take place in our lives. O Lord, enable us to not be laid back in our prayers and vigilance in our faith. Protect our relationship in my family O God. ba shem Yeshua Ha Mashiach, Amen!
