The Invisible War

45 David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.46 Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! 47 And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”
- 1 Samuel 17

There is a battle going on everyday of our lives, we cannot see them as real war but it is in the invisible spiritual realm that we wage war with. We should not be complacent in our faith and walk with GOD because we are in a battle. We have an enemy that seeks to destroy us from time to time. We do not fight against this enemy because we are not strong enough to fight but we depend on GOD and His word to give us the victory. As David had said, the battle is the LORD's and He will give it to us. But are we asking GOD to fight for us? How can we win this great invisible war? What is the rewards of our victory?

We win when we know we are joyful, when we have peace, when we are satisfied and content in the LORD. When we know that we are blessed and strive to share these blessings with others. Feelings of depression and anxiety are the arrows of the enemy that strikes us. Do we put on the full armor of GOD as Ephesians 6:10-18 told us to do? His word has given us all we need to win the victory, the battle is not ours but we need to do our part in the invisible war:
14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
