Desire the Helpful Gifts

7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing.10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

GOD has given spiritual gifts to each and everyone of His children for the purpose of helping each other in the knowledge and faith of GOD. HE has equipped us for a great purpose, so that together we can all win in the race of faith. He has given us different gifts, which do you have? Or which do you desire to have? Are you asking for it? Most of us would desire the gift of miracles, so that we can display GOD's power and be in awe of His glory. Some would want to gift of prophecy so that they can see ahead what will be. Others desire the gift of healing, so that they can help those who are broken. Some of us have more than one gift and this is amazing. But all these gifts should be founded in love.

The best gift that one could ever have should be the gift of wisdom. The gift to give wise advice and to apply this wisdom in their own lives is a gift incomparable to the other gifts. This was the gift that Solomon had asked for when GOD offered to give him anything he desired. Out of all the riches, fame and glory one could wish for in this world, he desired to have one most important thing and that is the gift of wisdom. For wisdom has the ability to have all the other gifts, it does not only lead you to life, riches and glory but you can have the special knowledge when you have the gift of wisdom, the ability to understand how a person can be healed without the gift of healing and the power to see whatever will happen in the future. Whatever gifts that you want to have, desire it and ask this from GOD, He will surely give it.
