counsel and understanding are his.
14 What he destroys cannot be rebuilt.
When he puts someone in prison, there is no escape.
15 If he holds back the rain, the earth becomes a desert.
If he releases the waters, they flood the earth.
16 Yes, strength and wisdom are his;
deceivers and deceived are both in his power.

What is wisdom? Wisdom is the true understanding of people and things. It is important to always ask wisdom from GOD because without understanding of the things happening in our lives, we may do the wrong things. It's okay to commit mistakes here and there because that is how we learn to live. But there are mistakes that we can't just afford to commit especially the big decisions in life and things we will regret for the rest of our lives.
True wisdom comes from GOD, yes many wise and intelligent people don't acknowledge there is a GOD but it doesn't mean GOD doesn't exist. They just don't know that their wisdom comes from GOD. Even success and power come from GOD. Many times the LORD allows the wicked to prosper and succeed but it is only for HIS purpose to be accomplished, and once the work is done, GOD will destroy the wicked, put them in jail and they will never get out or live to build themselves ever again.
When natural disasters come to earth, our first and initial reaction is to think about GOD, why? Because deep in our hearts we know that GOD controls all things. Do we have to wait for disaster for to cry out to GOD? But those who love and fear GOD are those that have true wisdom, for this wisdom comes from GOD alone.
