19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 20 And they left their nets at once and followed him.
21 A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too.

Matthew 4:19:22
The call of Jesus is not for certain people that are chosen by GOD. The call of Jesus to follow Him is for everyone that has ever lived on earth. When we respond to the call of GOD and accept it with eagerness and willingness, we are those that are chosen by GOD, because we chose to respond to GOD. When GOD calls us our destinies will depend on whether we are respondent to GOD's call or passively ignoring it. Not too many people respond and the ones who do respond have become chosen. Two of them are Jesus disciples James and John, who with the first call of Jesus acted immediately leaving their work, their family and everything that they have ever known in life - their comfort zone.
If you are one that is seeking for the truth, you will be one searching the scriptures of the Bible because it is the Truth! Reading the Bible, we hear GOD's call upon our lives when we get through this scripture in Matthew, but even before Matthew, GOD has been calling people. Starting in Genesis GOD has been calling men to follow HIM and one of the very special man who responded to that call with such great faith that left everything behind, including his father is the great Abraham. Abraham is one of Jesus first disciples while Jesus was still with the Father in Heaven. He has been following Jesus without having to see His physical face, and only to hear His voice. And now it is back to how it was being done from the very begining since Jesus ascended to Heaven, following Jesus without having to see Him physically but hearing His every word each day.
