Conform means to comply with rules, standards or laws. It is also synonym to the word observe, follow or obey. It is only natural for people to follow other people. Children follow their parents, teenagers follow their peers. We all want to emulate or admire a certain person and follow that person. But GOD says in Romans 12:2 2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. We start conforming to the things that which we behold or put importance to.
GOD says do not conform to the worldly ways and it's system. So where should we conform to? In the book of Leviticus, GOD says to accept GOD's commands in our hearts and conform our life and conduct to them. So how do we put GOD's word in our hearts? By beholding them, reading them, meditating on them and constantly purposefully putting HIS word in our minds because our minds can wander off as far as Pluto. The mind is the battle ground, whoever controls your mind controls your life. What are you putting your time and devotion to is what will shape your life. What you behold is what you become. To behold is to see or observe (someone or something, especially of remarkable or impressive nature).You become what you behold. If you are beholding earthly things, you become just as temporary and easily faded as a thing. So be careful what you behold, because this is where we start to conform and become just it. Behold GOD's word and conform to it and you will become eternal because HIS word endures forever.
