11 “Do not use yeast in preparing any of the grain offerings you present to the Lord, because no yeast or honey may be burned as a special gift presented to the Lord.12 You may add yeast and honey to an offering of the first crops of your harvest, but these must never be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.13 Season all your grain offerings with salt to remind you of God’s eternal covenant. Never forget to add salt to your grain offerings.

Yeast are used in the making of alcoholic beverage like beer and wine, and baking bread. Beverages such as mead, wine, beer, or distilled spirits all use yeast at some stage of their production. Yeast are used to make bread causing the dough to expand. Yeast is very useful and so is honey. But what is it about yeast that GOD would not allow this certain grain from being presented to the LORD? In the New Testament, Yeshua uses Yeast as an example, representing it as the hypocrisy and religiousness of the Pharisees. HE says not to be contaminated by the yeast of the pharisees. What is this yeast that we should be careful not to be contaminated with? Pride, spiritual pride is far most the stinking sin that could ever reach the throne of GOD. No sin is as hurtful or grave as pretending to be godly outside, but dead on the inside.
So never offer any kind of hypocrisy as an offering to GOD. What GOD wants of us is our honest true selves, even if we are wretched, we admit that we are as our weakness is, because HE already knows them anyway. There's no need to pretend to be good when there's wickedness in our hearts. We don't need to be ashamed of GOD because HE sees everything in our lives. We only need to be humble and accept that we are as we are but we should not focus on our weaknesses and become frustrated to the point of hopelessness. No! Our focus should be upon the holiness and faithfulness, deep love of GOD. HE is beautiful and perfect in every way and we can only lean and depend on HIS faithfulness towards us. He will bring into completion every work HE has started with us. Therefore season all your offerings with salt. Salt is very tiny but strong in it's nature. A little bit of salt can add all the flavor. Salt is the truth of every matter of our lives. As salt preserves food, it preserves the purity of our lives. Let GOD's word be our salt, preserving our offerings made in faith.
