9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite did as the Lord commanded them, and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer. 10 When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! 11 Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the Lord had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of money[a] and a gold ring. 12 So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning.
- Job 42
Many people have different thoughts and opinions to many things. People are all different in many ways because we come from different background and experiences. So our way of thinking differs from one another. In Job's life, Job had friends who came from a culture or background that may have thought that when you go through terrible things, it can only mean that you are a terrible person for GOD to allow you to go through such horrible events. In other words, these friends of Job were Judgmental and probably simple and closed minded. But GOD wanted to correct this kind of thinking in man. Through Jobs life, GOD proved to Job's friends that HE is not "that" kind of GOD whom they think that HE is, the Sovereign GOD is more!
You may be going through a tough time right now, and some of your friends have left you, judged you and condemned you for what has happened in your life, where they should be encouraging you and praying for you. You may even feel that you may have done something wrong and that you don't deserve anything from GOD. But hope again my friend, in the GOD whose love is unfailing and whose faithfulness are more sure than the sun rising each morning. When you go through difficulties, consider it a way to receive greater blessings in the future. Do not give up believing in the goodness of GOD, because no matter what you go through HE will never cease to be good because that is just who HE is. Hold on to the unfailing love of GOD. If you can't understand what HE is allowing you to go through, if you can't understand what HE is thinking, trust HIS heart, because His love is unfailing.
