17 She replied, “My lord, you made a vow before the Lord your God when you said to me, ‘Your son Solomon will surely be the next king and will sit on my throne.’ 18 But instead, Adonijah has made himself king, and my lord the king does not even know about it.
29 And the king repeated his vow: “As surely as the Lord lives, who has rescued me from every danger, 30 your son Solomon will be the next king and will sit on my throne this very day, just as I vowed to you before the Lord, the God of Israel.”
31 Then Bathsheba bowed down with her face to the ground before the king and exclaimed, “May my lord King David live forever!”

When God the King has promised us something in the future, someone or something will always try to overtake it so that GOD's promise will be void, unfulfilled. The enemy may do his thing stopping whatever plan GOD has in store in the future but his works remain useless because the devil can never win against GOD. We just need to remind GOD the promise HE had spoken to us, we need to remind ourselves each day of His great promises because this will determine our destinies. We need to be just like Bathsheba during the time when King David's promise to her seemed to be unclear because someone by the name Adonijah set himself to be the next king of Israel.
What do you do when you are threatened by the enemy where it seems like GOD's promise are about to fail? Like Bathsheba go to the King, we go to GOD our King and remind Him the promise He has spoken in our lives. But in order for us to remember GOD's promise, we need to remind ourselves of it so when we are threatened, we can come before GOD and remind Him "Didn't you vow to me?" and GOD will renew His promise to you. Be prepared for GOD just might already make His promise come to pass to you now. For when GOD had given you the promise, it is already considered done. GOD's promise is not bound by time. GOD's promise is now.
