13 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh. Tell him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so they can worship me.14 If you don’t, I will send more plagues on you and your officials and your people. Then you will know that there is no one like me in all the earth. 15 By now I could have lifted my hand and struck you and your people with a plague to wipe you off the face of the earth. 16 But I have spared you for a purpose—to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth. 17 But you still lord it over my people and refuse to let them go. 18 So tomorrow at this time I will send a hailstorm more devastating than any in all the history of Egypt.
- Exodus 9
How is it that the GOD of the Universe wanted His people so much to worship Him? He would fight against the Pharaoh of Egypt just so His people would worship Him. Is this how GOD is fighting for us? Is our time and worship to GOD important to Him as the children of Israel were? Yes, for all who chose the LORD GOD to be their GOD belongs to Him and they are called His people. Just how much does GOD want our time? Our worship? So very much, you can read the passages in Exodus and how GOD relentlessly warned Pharaoh to let His people go.
Why would GOD want our worship? Is it because He loves us? Would you want your loved one to adore you the way you adore your loved one? Could this be how GOD feels for us? No one else in this world could ever love us so deeply and truly more than the GOD who created us. In fact, this is the very reason why He created humans. He wanted to have an intimate relationship with humans. He loved His created ones and wanted them to love Him back. GOD is not some strict, emotionless being that stands there waiting to punish us when we do wrong. Yet it takes faith to know the true heart and deity of GOD. His very essence is love, would you like to know how deep and wide GOD's love is?
