18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.”
19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. 21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
- Genesis 50
The story of Joseph is an incredible and emotional one. His life story was painful because he had to be away from his family at a young age because of the envy of his brothers towards him and then he had to work hard to earn a living and work while being in prison and finally GOD made him Egypt's leader. All this time, GOD had set him apart from his family because GOD was training him to be a King someday to a Foreign Nation! It took years for GOD to make him able. And when the right time came, he ruled Egypt well and was able to save his whole family during famine.
After his father's death he could have been bitter and could get back at his brother for what they did to him. But Joseph understood that it was all GOD's great plan to save him and his family during this famine. GOD's ways are completely unthinkable and humanly impossible to predict, but it's understandable. Forgiveness comes easy when we look to GOD and understand why He allowed pain to come to our lives. Forgiveness comes easy when we are all about GOD and His agenda, nothing becomes personal and it's hard to be offended when one choses to live for GOD and not for himself. What about you? What are you about?
