Shalom

3 You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
4 Trust in the Lord always,
for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
5 He humbles the proud
and brings down the arrogant city.
He brings it down to the dust.
- Isaiah 26:3-5

Peace that this verse talks about is from the original Hebrew word Shalom. Shalom is perfect peace. But Shalom is more then just simply peace; it is a complete peace. It is a feeling of contentment, completeness, wholeness, well being and harmony. Who has this? For in this world there will always be troubles. But the Bible says those who focus on GOD, who constantly thinks about the LORD and HIS ways are those that possess Shalom. Trusting in GOD does not easy, especially when our boat is rocking in the waves of trials and tribulations. It requires a lot of faith to be able to trust GOD when our world is falling apart, when we do not know what to do.

HIS word has promised that when we trust GOD we stand on a solid rock, not rock on a swaying boat. GOD alone knows all things and allows things to happen as He sees fit. When we understand the great GOD who controls all things, when we know HIS love for us is perfect and unfailing, then we rest knowing that all that happens is for our best and for our good even when we don't agree with what's happening or understand them at the moment. But when we trust GOD inspite of our pain, this is how true faith is birthed, when we learn to just let go and let GOD have HIS way, we don't struggle and fight, we go with HIS flow instead of swimming against the current, we receive Shalom, HIS Shalom.
