11 The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal. 12 They abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them. And they angered the Lord. 13 They abandoned the Lord to serve Baal and the images of Ashtoreth. 14 This made the Lord burn with anger against Israel, so he handed them over to raiders who stole their possessions. He turned them over to their enemies all around, and they were no longer able to resist them.15 Every time Israel went out to battle, the Lord fought against them, causing them to be defeated, just as he had warned. And the people were in great distress.

It is easy and human like to take for granted the blessings that GOD so richly gives to us and forget His commands that anyone has ever come into agreement with HIM. Everytime Israel forsake GOD and HIS ways by worshipping other gods, they angered the true and living GOD. Their unfaithfulness caused GOD to take away HIS hand of protection from them. Raiders stole their belongings, they had trouble all around when their enemies started to attack them and they couldn't do anything to defend themselves. They were helpless without the protection and favor of GOD.

We have to learn a lesson from Israel's failures. Each day we need to continually remind ourselves of our covenant with GOD, and be faithful to HIS commands that we ought to follow. We do this by reading HIS word everyday, by reminding ourselves of HIS truth. The world has bombarded us of lies and if we don't do our part staying in the truth by continually reading HIS word, we easily forget. It is humanlike to forget because we are frail and finite beings, our memories are not only limited, our hearts are weak. So GOD has given us HIS word for us to be in the truth, follow HIS ways and stay in the truth.
