Staying in the truth

7 I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward. 9 Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.

2 John 1:7-9

Deceivers, are people, things, philosophy, teachings, groups, ideas that don't necessarily lie, but they are not based in the truth either. People that don't embrace the truth, have rejected it even though they never rejected it outright but passiveness is equal to that. Rejectors therefore live a life condemned to death because being in the truth means having life also. What is the truth? The truth is Yeshua Ha Mashiach or Jesus the Messiah. He declared to be the truth when He came to earth, and He will forever be who He said He would be. He declared to be the way, the truth, and the life. I've never seen a man declare such things for Himself, well it is because He was not just a man, He is God Himself coming into the world in human form. Many people don't accept this, they don't believe this or embrace it. There's only two ways to react to this truth, receive and embrace it or being passive which is having no decision which make you a rejecter of the truth and you can deny it outright, but both reactions belong to the same side - if you don't believe you don't belong to the truth.

Being in the truth doesn't mean we will stay in the truth until the very end. For the bible has prophecied that there will be a great falling away from the truth and 2 John 1:8 warned those that are in the truth to be watchful and be careful to guard what they already have which is the truth. Why? Is there a thief that steals the truth away from us? Yes! There certainly is and he is the enemy of God whose job is to steal, kill and destroy humanity and all that GOD loves. So we should not only guard what we have, we have to be diligent by renewing the truth that we hold on to so dearly everyday by reading the truth, the Bible, spending time with GOD by having this intimate relationship with the truth who is called Yeshua or JESUS and everyday being faithful to call on His name and ask for the Spirit of GOD, the Holy Spirit which guides us into all truth to fill us with the truth. There's no other way to live. Jesus, the truth is the only way to have life and life to the full.
