- 1 John 1:9-10
There are many things that a christian has to deal with when he is in church. Church is a place where we can worship GOD together with all the other brethren. It's a place of rest and fellowship. It's a place where we learn about GOD and HIS teachings. But the church is also a testing ground, a place were people are being tested with their faith, character and fruits. Many will lead and teach, but not all leaders bear fruit as this verse in 1 John is talking about a man who loves to be the leader. We bear fruit according to the real intentions and motives of our hearts. If our motivation and intention is to please GOD first and most of all. Then it is certain that everything we ever do for GOD will never be in vain.
Everyone are followers of GOD and someday followers will become leaders that lead others to follow Yeshua (the Christ). But be discerning of who you learn from. There are leaders who don't bear fruit or bear bad fruit if they do have any, have desires and intentions that are not from GOD. Everyone does something for a reason, for a purpose, and our reasons are weighed by GOD, if they are pure, then GOD is pleased and we bear fruit according to HIS glory. But leaders whose intentions is to please themselves will find themselves envying other leaders, not submitting to authority and even making accusations on others. One of the traits of a bad leader is that he is threatened by those who are similar to his role and position, he doesn't want them to compete with him and would not want teachers like him to teach and help in the church. Beware of wolves that come in sheeps clothing, make sure to depend on GOD to guide you into all truth.
