Return to HIM

“O people of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he will return to the few of us who have survived the conquest of the Assyrian kings. 7 Do not be like your ancestors and relatives who abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and became an object of derision, as you yourselves can see. 8 Do not be stubborn, as they were, but submit yourselves to the Lord. Come to his Temple, which he has set apart as holy forever. Worship the Lord your God so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.
9 “For if you return to the Lord, your relatives and your children will be treated mercifully by their captors, and they will be able to return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you.”

Do you know where you belong? Originally, we all come from places of birth and cities or countries we grew up in. But even before we were born in this world we belong to  our Creator. The Almighty GOD's heart is where every one of creation belongs to, because we came into being from HIS heart and out of HIS heart, HE birthed creation, HE made us. Once born into this world, we feel a need to belong to a family, some sort of clique, organization or group but we have to remember that we first belonged to the LORD. No matter how many things we identify ourselves with, our identity was birthed in our maker. On earth, it is natural for every human to stray from the path that GOD has planned for our lives. We want to live our own way, we want to do as we think is right, and we can do it our own way. GOD has given humanity the free will to chose how we should live our lives. That's how great HE is, HE never forces anyone of us to live according to HIS ways, but HE does tell us how to live so that we will enjoy great blessings, joy and abundance.

While GOD is a gentle GOD, never forcing anyone to follow HIM. HE is also a loving GOD, and so when we read the words of this verse, we can see that GOD also has a heart that wants to see HIS children come to Him. HE gives us freedom yet reminds us that if we do not submit ourselves to HIS ways, HE will eventually turn away from us. Is it not very human for us to feel that if we feel someone doesn't care for us, we would turn away from that person? Why should we force that person to love us? So here we can see, that GOD even though HE is Almighty, He also gets discouraged when we remain stubborn and stiffnecked. But GOD's unfailing love will never give up on us, when human love has worn out from trying, GOD's love is unfailing, and HIS love will chase us as long as HE sees that there is a chance for us to change our hearts and return to Him. Are you someone who is far from the home of HIS heart? Return to the loving arms of GOD, don't waste another time being away from the One whose love for you will never wear out. Return and enjoy the wonderful fellowship of your Father's love for you. He has been waiting and longing for you, more than You can ever imagine.
